Jetflow Adapter

IMG_9029

Not long ago I showed you how I modified a Nalgene wide mouth lid so it could be used with a Sawyer Squeeze filter. Shortly after I received a link about an adapter made by Jetflow. Long story short Andrew from Jetflow got in contact with me concerning how I would be using the Jetflow adapter, after a couple of emails one arrived at my door.

IMG_9038When I screwed the Jetflow adapter on the Nalgene and then the Sawyer Squeeze water leaked around the Nalgene and JetFlow threads. I got in contact with Andrew, a few emails later Andrew asked me to tighten the Jetflow really, really tight a couple of times then see if the leaked stopped. I did as Andrew described and it worked, apparently the material used in the Jetflow adapter is softer and reformed itself to the harder Nalgene threads…or something like that.

IMG_9031The cap from the Sawyer dirty bags fits the Jetflow adapter perfectly.

Anyway for those of you who don’t want to make the modifications to an existing Nalgene lid you can get a very nice adapter from Jetflow and while you’re at it check out Jetflow’s other fine hydration gear. And Jetflow’s customer service was excellent.

  1. Could be something I will have to pick up and try out.

What is the weight of the original nelgene water bags?? Just wondering what the offset would be (20 grams minus how many??) by using this as the primary and leaving the original nelgene lid at home.

    • John my scales may not be as precise as yours, but this should give you and idea.
Original Nalgene wide mouth cap before mod was 14g, after mod with small neck 16g.
Small white cap from Sawyer bag weighs 2g
Nalgene wide mouth bag weights, 1.5L 46g, 3L 67g, I think Nalgene makes a 1L wide mouth bag

  2. I’ve avoided getting a Sawyer filter due to the many poor reviews of the bags that attach to it and the small opening to them. This fixes the issue for me. Thanks much! ( but now what do I do with that wood burning tool I got to do your earlier mod?)
